SILK MINIATURES
These are compositions made by arranging tiny flowers on silk backgrounds of various colours. A dark background – black or dark blue, for example – may be used, enabling unusual pleasing effects to be achieved in terms of contrast. Producing these kinds of composition requires a great deal of patience and meticulous care.
